Many thanks to Mandy and Beth for letting me know I'm still being read by someone out there in the ether. I know there are reasons people choose not to use LJ anymore, but I've been here a LONG time now and I like having everything in one place. Soldiering on...
So, no one posts on LJ anymore. I wonder if they're posting journals on dreamwidth that I'm not party to, or if they're just posting shorter snippets on Facebook instead (in which case, for most of you, I'm thankfully still able to read them), or if life has just moved on from the online journal thing. As usual, I should be working...
That's the downside of a school year-- there is almost no time when I can't say I should be working. But, I just closed the computer file containing my lessons for tomorrow, so while there's correcting I'm behind on, I feel relatively good about tomorrow. So here's a quick update.

School starts Tuesday! Actually, I won't start teaching then, because I don't have any freshmen, and only freshmen have to come on the 1st day. Still, that marks the beginning of the school year, so that's what kicks things off. Naturally, that means this week is a busy week. Thanks to anyone who was thinking good thoughts for me. My eye seems better today. I can feel a twinge here and there, but it might just be in my head at this point. I am SO thankful I don't have to see a specialist-- wouldn't have minded from a "take care of myself" standpoint, but I'm way too busy today to have wanted to have to deal with it ( Read more... ) -
A few good thoughts, please!
I have always said that whenever something's wrong with your eyes, it's like your whole body shuts down. I'd rather have a broken leg, honestly, or have the pain of my three abdominal surgeries than eye pain. Pain in the rest of your body you can just sort of ignore, but when you can't see....ugh ( Read more... ) -
Time marches on...
Monday night already? Four days before I leave for Virginia? Only a couple weeks before I have to be back at school? Argh! Thank heavens I have scheduled the boys to be at Miss J's tomorrow so I can get things done. The inlaws leave in the morning. It was a great visit, but I'm ready to move forward and get my own work done.

Speeding up...
Ok, so first, I'm feeling better. Still not perfect, but either the anti-biotics worked, or I managed to get over whatever I had. I am tired and I have a bit of a cold, but the fever's gone and my eyes are mostly better. So, on to the rest of the updates ( Read more... )
