The Importance of Information

Apr 18, 2003 23:13

I think one of the most dangerous things hurting the Christian community has to do with information. We are so often either misinformed or not informed at all. Nothing makes us look more stupid than when we believe everything that comes our way or form false, snap opinions about something we hardly know anything about ( Read more... )

Christians are some of the most gullible people.

I agree!!! And scare tactics (your daughter will become a witch/vaccines will kill your child/hospitals are evil) work exceedingly well on Christians. I don't think daughters will become witches by reading HP, but I don't think HP is good for them, or other Christians, to read either. Not getting vaccines will kill your child and home births are evil. ;)

I bet ya just love me writign all of this "controversial" stuff in your journal right, Mellie? LOL! Sorry!!

Now I'm going to chase you away with a pitchfork! ;-) No, LOL, I don't mind you leaving controversial things in my LJ. After all, it's not like my post was something everyone is going to agree on. I leave controversial stuff in my own LJ! ;-)

I know what you mean about scare tactics. It reminds me of superstitions people used to have. They were stupid and still are. It's not being reasonable nor sensible!

One of the temptations of being against something is to agree with every reason there is to be against it. Sure, there is some kid who became a witch from reading HP, but there are probably more people who became witches from reading the Bible, haha. People will always twist things to excuse their personal behavior.
