Stereotypes and Los Angeles Poll

Los Angeles has a reputation. It also has its many stereotypes. I've lived in LA all my life, so I know what it is like here. Take the following poll to see how well you know Los Angeles!

Since the beach is so close, most everyone goes to the beach often.

I know that's not true - and I think that's sad. Some of us miss the ocean and wish that those who lived near it were fully appreciative of their blessed situation. :-/

Looking forward to your explanations. I haven't lived in California since I was a baby, but have lots of relatives in the San Bernardino area who work in LA. Just found out that one of my aunts is a secretary for Schwartzenegger's (sp? :P) lawyer. She said before he became governor she would receive calls from him when he wanted to talk to the lawyer. Now someone else calls for him. =)

Well, the beach isn't all that pleasant of a place with all those half-naked people running around and dirty sand and screaming kids. There *are* prettier places up the coast, but not right nearby.

On Friday I drove along the beach during sunset, and it was so pretty. See, I'm trying to be appreciative of my location! ;-)

Looking forward to your explanations.

I already wrote them. I'll post them once some more people take the poll.

Ah neat. I think San Bernardino has a different "culture" than here, though.

Los Angeles is not that interested in the arts. Its focus is mostly on movies.

not all arts of course, but I have heard (from stage actors)that theatre there is generally overlooked, at least compared to other large cities.

Really? Hmm. Well, we do have big productions like Phantom of the Opera, Lion King, etc. And I'm always getting fliers in the mail for theatre productions.

I believe they were talking about semi-professional.

I'm sure LA gets the big productions because even we get great ones way out here in Columbus :)

Neat! Where do you live (since it doesn't sound like you live exactly in LA)?

I live nearer to the Anaheim area ;-) The traffic was so bad today (thanks a lot, shoppers!) that it took over an hour both directions :-X But that's a tangent ;-)

You must have a different view of Los Angeles than I do judging from your responses to my poll, LOL.

Anaheim is nice--that's where Disneyland is! :-D I was just at Disneyland a few days ago.

The university I attend is close to Anaheim. Biola University in La Mirada. :-)

Judging by your answers, it is different than you think it is! ;-)

Are you implying that I am misinformed?

My answers reflect LA, not the rest of California.

Just like everyone else! ;-)

Well, quite a few of your answers were wrong about LA too. :-)
