Public: The latest in knitted wear (pictures!)

I--and my knitting needles--have been busy. I have been knitting nearly every day (even on vacation!), trying to fulfill the orders for hats and scarves I've been commissioned to make, plus create all the Christmas presents I want to give. Everything is done now, just in time for Christmas. It's a good thing I love knitting so much ( Read more... )

Ooh, they're all so pretty! My favorites are the first (Rupert and Ruby), the cabled ones you made for yourself, Sandy, Gwendolyn, and Candace (definitely a big improvement over the sweater). :) Makes me almost change my mind about buying one. But my sister has two scarfs that our sister-in-law recently gave us, so I get to use one when I need to.

Thanks! :-)

Who needs just ONE scarf?! Everyone should have dozens! ;-) Seriously, though, that one scarf can't go with EVERYthing you have to wear, right? ;-)

Hehe, that's true. Oh, well--maybe when I get rich I'd buy dozens. ;)
I wish I could make my own, too, but I tried crocheting and I wasn't very good at it, and Jenny Mae said knitting was harder.

Well, Jenny only tried it for a half hour or so (I know; I was the one there teaching her ;-), and most things seem difficult at first. Knitting really isn't hard once you get the hang of it. There are only two main stitches in knitting (with simple variations), whereas in crochetting there are more to learn.

Melinda! Oh everything is just amazing! I especially want that exact cabled hat and scarf set that you made!!! Oh man...that hat ROCKS!!! Did you make up the pattern or use one? ^5 You got mad skillz.

Aww, thanks. :-) I don't use hat patterns anymore. Once you knit up several, it's pretty easy to improvise. You should try it! :-) If you want some help on how to make your own cabled hat and scarf, just ask. :-)

Get it quick everyone, before she turns this into a multimillion dollar business!

All you have to do now is marry a smart businessman and you'll be both rich (selling knitting) and happy (doing knitting).

Maybe Mr. Seventeen was pulling on your hairsticks because he thought they were knitting needles!
