Perhaps you should explore it further... if its worth cluttering up your internal hard-drive, that is. I know how you hate to store useless information.

I would, if it exclusively involved myself. As it is, exploring further would require another party, and I'm not sure just how the idea would be received.

[A sigh] Yes, I do. I'm not sure that it's pointless or not, but it's certainly persistent. It's been weeks, now.

[ Gently. ] Sherlock, whatever it is, you can tell me. If its a good addiction, not something like drugs... its probably worth looking into.

[Sherlock is making this face at you, like you're a case where the last detail that would solve it still eludes him.

He knows he can tell John anything, but he would rather know more about it before blabbing something that could incriminate him or make him vulnerable.]

I don't know that it's good, yet. It seems dangerous, or disconcerting at the very least.

[He pauses. Has John figured him out? Is he really that transparent?]

What do you think it is? [He almost hopes John knows. It would save him having to explain it.]

A disorienting and complicated one. [Beat.] It's probably better that you don't know, actually.

I would like some tea, though. [Deflecting, who's deflecting? Not Sherlock, no sir.]

[A sigh. Yes, he certainly knew he could tell John anything, but this was something he could barely admit even to himself.]

It's...[He wrestles with the idea of just coming out with it, but the words just won't come, so he beats around the bush.]

I'm finding myself increasingly distracted by thoughts of something I originally dismissed as unnecessary.
