He places a hand to his chest, 'moi?!' the gesture seemed to say. "My! That is inconvenient. It's almost like you'd consider lying otherwise should you happen to be around certain... people."
"Inconvenient indeed," he agrees, crossing his arms over his chest. "I do lie when the occasion calls for it, and I certainly do not relish having the truth forced from me."
"No." Again, he doesn't mean to answer, but the words just slip out.
"It is a long story. I found myself, over time, growing fond of humanity -- my surrogate family in particular. When Lucifer discovered this, he sent several of Hell's princes to destroy them and retrieve me. I prayed, and Father answered me. We had a long discussion; eventually he granted me my Grace so that I might better protect those who I have come to care for."
He.. listened? Belial rose a brow. Sounds like something Lucifer would do, not wishing to lose one of his high princes, but didn't sound like something Yahweh would do. How interesting.
He takes a moment to contemplate his answer. Although the question sounds so simple, it's hardly as clear cut as 'yes' or 'no'.
"I find it difficult to live with such freedom, without purpose, but I have many willing to guide and assist me through it. I am grateful for what I have, for the fact that my Father listened to me when I was most in need."
"Have you considered that you are not actually free, Bel?" He leans in, a quiet voice. Certain of what he was claiming and perhaps even a little sympathetic as his hand reaches out for a stray hair.
"That perhaps this fear is not of freedom but of doing the wrong thing and Falling again," there was a pause. "As that kind of pain is so unbearable."

"And are you fulfilled here in this new Grace?"
