That is another question Feliciano has to think about for a while. Did he hate them?

"Oh, I don't hate them," he said finally, "it's just business. One of my bosses used to say that politics is a zero-sum game. I finally understand what he was trying to tell me. Did you know that Machiavelli was one of my children? I understand him now, too. It just took me a while. Maybe they're right and I'm stupid."

But that hadn't answered Okita's question, had it? He went back to pacing and humming thoughtfully. This was a test of loyalty and skill, so the information he stole didn't matter so much as the evidence that he could and would do it again. Why not give him a real challenge?

"I would like you to bring me Russia's secrets. Something that will protect me from him."

"Huh, is that so?" Okita tried to seem somewhat interested. He wasn't really interested in politics or how they worked. He was a sword and serving was enough for him. "That Machiavelli guy.. is that someone you're proud of?"

"Russia's secrets", Okita nods. "Sure seems threatening when you need something that protects you from him."

Feliciano frowned. Well, it was a pouty frown, but he hoped that it displayed his irritation clearly anyway. He did not appreciate mockery, thank you very much.

"You will find that out for yourself, won't you? And yes, I'm proud of Machiavelli. He is one of the wisest men ever born to my country."

"I guess I will", another smirk. "Sounds like you hadn't many of them in the first place there. Well, I'll take my leave now."

((ooc: Should we make a time jump there? Since I guess it will take a bit time to infiltrate Russia.. or sth xD))

[OOC: Sounds good!]

Indeed, patience had never been one of his strong points. With every passing day he waited for his new minion to return, his mood soured. So much for having a new minion... He hoped that his death had been painful, at the very least, Feliciano thought spitefully as he shovelled pasta into his mouth one evening. Not even the delicious food managed to cheer him up.

Luckily, Okita really had not many qualms over taking human lives and so to prove his "loyalty" to Russia hadn't been too much of a problem that time around. At least it was a lot less messy for him then trying to obtain information, since that required a fine line of trust not everyone was so easily to give up to people.

Yet after some time, he managed to sneak in and got hold onto a few plans. He returned with those to Feliciano. He opened the door to where Feliciano was taking his meal, approaching the table to lie the plans down. They involved details on weaponery and which people were watched carefully by Russia.
"Content?"

Feliciano made a comical sight, mouth open for the forkful of pasta that was frozen halfway between the plate and his mouth, eyes wide. A few drops of pasta sauce dripped onto the plate.

His attention was fully on Okita, he hadn't even looked at the plans yet. There was an unreadable expression in these eyes, somewhere between surprise, happiness and maybe just a tad disappointment that he hadn't suffered a painful death, after all.

"I thought you had died." Or abandoned him, which would have amounted to the same thing.

"Now I would appreciate if you didn't kill me inside of your imagination, you know", there was a cross between a grin and a frown on his face. "It takes more than a day to get information, after all."

Okita just hoped his "boss" really wasn't that dumb. He knew he couldn't chose and had to play along for now, but it was rather frustrating when the one he was working for had no competence at all.

Becoming animate again, Feli shrugged and ate the pasta. He chewed it slowly and with obvious relish before he bothered to answer. "People keep telling me that I have a short attention span."

He put the fork down and placed his chin on his folded hands. "Did you have fun?"

Okita almost wanted to comment on how he wasn't surprised about that, but he bit his words back this time. After all, he wanted - or rather had to - work with this guy.

"Is fun supposed to be part of my job?", he replied with a question of his own. He would prefer his usual jobs really. Fighting someone was far more enjoyable than trying to press secrets out of them.

He hummed in response to that and ate another moutful of pasta. "Ve~ fun isn't part of your job, but I prefer to be nice to my inferiors. You should try it sometime." People were more likely to trust you if they believed you cared about them, but he's not going to explain that. Or maybe it's just an old habit from before his eyes had been opened to the realities of the world, he couldn't quite say.

"So, did you... did you have fun?" There was a hard undertone to his voice. He would have his pleasant conversation, whether Okita wanted to or not.

"Huh", Okita huffed shortly. He was pretty sure Feliciano had never encountered someone who was actually nice to his inferiors. He couldn't even compare the slightest towards Kondou-san. There was no comradeship here.

"It was okay, but I prefer fighting. Spying is not really my line of work."

"Ah. I see. I find it boring, too. That's why I sent you."

He remembered the bowl of pasta and gestured towards it. "Would you like some pasta? I made it myself." Of course he had. He didn't trust anyone but his brother not to mess it up.

"How pleasant."

Okita shook his head, a sigh leaving his lips. "No, thank you. I am not hungry."
He rarely ever was, especially when he was not in the mood.

Feliciano's lips thinned with irritation. That hadn't been a question. He liked everything being pleasant and nice. "Why can't I just get some pleasantry and niceness?" he asked as he stood up and took up his pacing, hands gesticulating wildly as he did so. His voice was light, but deceptively so. "There would be no problems at all in the world if people would just play nicely."

His eyes fixed on Okita, truly looking at him for the first time since he had arrived. "I hope the information is good. I'll be disappointed if it isn't."
