[Making her stay would be a mistake. He knows that and for once, he's sticking to that idea. He just draws lazy circles on the arm of the chair, now watching her every movement. He's trying to gauge whether or not she really feels the anger and frustration and whatever else is in her voice. Her body language, though, it says the same things her tone is saying. That impatience, that frustration, it bleeds into her every movement. And that's what keeps Damon from trying to make her stay, from trying to argue with her more about what happened. Instead he pushes himself up out of the armchair and goes to the table containing a select few bottles of alcohol. He pours some of the contents of one - while eying the spot where the bottle of scotch sat - into a tumbler and goes to sit back in the chair. His eyes are back on her when she speaks, having not really expected that. He didn't really expect anything at all. He doesn't respond, though, just takes a deep drink from his glass, mildly disappointed by the taste, the lack of the burn he

[Elijah, why are you a cockroach? To say that Damon's surprised to see the older vampire is a bit of a understatement, but he does what he can to keep that surprise from showing too clearly. Instead, a smug grin settles over his features and he folds his arms across his chest] Haven't you died enough already? Back for more?
:D I am so happy that someone actually plays Elijah setedisangueAugust 13 2011, 20:27:28 UTC
[No promises. The idea of Damon actually behaving himself is just absurd after all. Damon looks nothing short of uninterested - annoyed, if anything - when Elijah speaks and he shrugs his shoulders] He also takes candy from strangers and gets into white vans with nice older men. What's your point?
I'm surprised more people don't! specialvampireAugust 13 2011, 20:42:32 UTC
My point is that we have a shared interest. My brother betrayed me; yours is running amok. You can either co-operate with me and take the chance to save Stefan, or you can stay here and do nothing. Which will it be?
It's a shame that more people don't ;; setedisangueAugust 14 2011, 00:24:40 UTC
So he's killing humans. I don't see the problem. It's what he should have been doing all along. [He knows that like this, Stefan is a problem though. He's seen this side of Stefan before and it bothers be him. Maybe not so much now that Damon's finally come in to his vampirism, but it did back then. And it still bothers him at least a little. He likes to think it's because he didn't get to be the one to reintroduce Stefan to human blood after so many years of trying. It's likely not that anymore though]
[Damon sets his jaw and drops his hands down to his sides, balling them into fists. He's going to regret this. He knows he is. But if anyone's going to kill his brother, it's going to be him] Wait.
[Damon doesn't even bother trying to hide the fact that he really just wants to tear that smug look off of Elijah's face] You're not going after my brother without me.
[If how they've gotten along in the past is any indication, oh yeah. He thinks of actual preparations that he could make before leaving, but the only one that would really matter would be telling Elena. And he thinks she'd be better off not knowing. She would try to tag along after all] Leaving doesn't require preparation. That's the beauty of living that way I do.
[She's better off not knowing where he's going to why he's going and she's better off if she doesn't have the chance to follow. She's just... better off.
Without much thought, he follows behind Elijah though it's not long before he makes sure he's next to him and no longer following. He's not here to be Elijah's little lackey] Any idea where to start looking?

Oh, I couldn't resist. Now Damon... I hear that your brother and my brother are having something of a vacation together.

[He turns to go. If he ends up having to kill Stefan in order to get to Klaus, so be it.]

Good.
[And he sweeps out, not looking back to see if Damon will follow.]
