I just spent an inordinate amount of time looking back through all my recs and scratching my head a lot. So you know what I said the other night, about bound books in bookshops that come with their own special language/packaging that's equivalent to what we now try to do via tags and warnings and recs and so on? Well, screw that. ( Potentially triggering mini-rant about an in-store author reading. )

Most of the time, I read contemporary slavefic with the equivalent of hands over ears, mumbling "La-la-la I'm not hearing what you're implying here" while somehow trying to absorb the plot anyway. This is the third and last of the little mini-theme I had going here, and as a capstone it works about as perfectly as I could ever have hoped. It's probably - despite the subject matter - one of the most romantic and human stories I've ever read in this fandom.
