Explanations:
Letters - Letters can be sent to the editor (currently mayor Ari). Letters to the editor are meant to be answered, of course. Obituaries for disappeared people may be posted. Other letters... I dunno what other types of letters there would be, but we can always leave it open in case someone wants to write one. You don't get paid for sending letters, but for longer letters that get published, you do get memories.
Announcements - Mainly for official use only. But can be useful for things like Aizen's onsen buffet or the stables getting chocobos and such. Announcements don't cost anything, and don't earn anything either.
Advertisements - Advertisements cost money to post: $50 for 1/4 page, $100 for 1/2 page, $200 for full page. Ads need to be made by the advertiser himself/herself, and sent to Ari in graphic format. Bad personal ads are totally encouraged, and will make this a lot more interesting.
Articles - Articles are... articles. You can write about anything you want in the subject matter you signed up for; just check in the topic with Ari first. Things like the decline of bears in Memento and the tendency of teen demons to destroy property are perfectly fine. If you need more information about the Memento world or anything of the sort, feel free to ask Ari. Humor is highly encouraged.
Columns - The advice columns are Q&A-format. You can either make up the questions yourselves and attribute them to a random NPC, or make a post (either IC or OOC) asking player-controlled characters to submit questions. I'd say about 5 questions per advice column would be good. Please show questions to Ari before you write up the answers. As explained below, an Op-Ed column is an editorial piece not written by the editor; basically, an opinion article. The Culture column would detail things like events, cool places to go, reviews of shows and such.
Reviews - So far, there are only books listed. Feel free to make up book title, summary, and everything!
Interviews - The interviews are meant for characters in high positions, mainly the NPCs, but you can also choose to interview players with important or interesting jobs (ie, stablemaster, onsen manager, boathouse manager, onsen head cook, Ari's secretary, etc). As mentioned in the info post, it's up to the player/mod whether they want to be interviewed or not. Please show questions to Ari before you start.
Comics - Comics are... comics. These are an exception to the no-signing-up-for-the-same-spot rule, because... er, well, comics are comics. What I have in mind are strip-comics, not full manga-esque pages, but if you'd rather draw those, that's fine, too. (Maybe 4-koma would work better, if you want to take the Japanese approach?) There is the unfortunate limitation of drawing like the character being far harder than writing like them; please keep that in mind if you want to do a comic.
Puzzles - There will be a variety of puzzles, like crosswords and Sudoku and such. If you'd like to submit a puzzle, please pick something non-generic. Logic puzzles and such work well. Only puzzles you thought up yourself count for memories, sorry. Found puzzles still earn the money, though.
Horoscopes - Please make them entertaining~
Photos - These would, of course, actually have to be drawings. There can be an unlimited number of "photos", within reason; you can't really have a whole bunch for one article, and there are only so many articles. Photos, however, have to
match up with an article, so please plan ahead with article writers. Only self-made "photos" (either drawing, photomanipulation, actual photography, etc) will count for memories, sorry. Found "photos" still earn the money, though.
Anyway, please reply to this post to sign-up. Signing up will be on a first-come-first-serve basis, so please take a look at what people requested before you.
If you have a brilliant idea not listed here, feel free to say it.
