Do you have any or know where I might find recipes for nutritious dishes that could be prepared at home in -- hum, thirty minutes to an hour? I'm trying to incorporate healther and more filling meals into my daily routine by, uh, preparing healthy, filling lunches to bring to work the night before I go to work. Any help would be wonderful and ( Read more... )

Boxed rice mixes, because they taste much fancier than you'd think and they're still price-efficient (plus they can be easily snazzed up with a little fresh chopped pepper or something); *couscous* - it is versatile and easy and forgiving and a totally new taste. Mixes of that are good too. Freezer vegetables. Hearty canned soups (like Campbell's football team line) - a little more pricy than the watery types, but infinitely more filling. Soba noodles. Penne pasta is good on the run, requires little sauce. Eggo waffles: an anytime food! Pancakes with berries mixed in. Snackable fruits: clementines, bananas, blueberries, dates.

Have you been to cookinglight.com?
They are fantastic. Some of their recipes are longer than others - they have all kinds for all meals, so you have to kind of look around. But they are all light with calorie counts, and so delicious.

My roommate gets the magazine, too, which always is packed full of great recipes.

Thank you so much for that link! I've wasted hours of my afternoon browsing the site, and I've found a few recipes I can't wait to try. Excellent.

(And yay, it's a magazine! I'll stop by Borders to check that out on Monday. Thank you!)

Do you have any food allergies or things you just plain don't like?

No allergies! The only things I'm not very fond of are foods that're either super sweet or super tangy, or foods that combine two wildly different textures into one dish. I do not know why this bothers me! But it does. Oh, gosh, I feel kind of ridiculous admitting this.
