I think I am going crazy. Made it back to Vancouver safely. My checked bag isn't here yet but I made it. It figures that the first time I check my bag when non-reving I wouldn't get it. It is now flying standby and is supposedly waiting for me at PDX but I am going to call before I head over because I don't want to make the trip if it won't be

Question: Is it acceptable for a "normal" passenger (as opposed to a fellow flight attendant, albeit one off-duty and traveling in civvies) to make such small gestures of thanks to one's flight crew?
I feel horribly convicted after spending a week watching you interact with people. I do try not to be completely self-centered; but every so often, I need a reminder of what it really means to be polite and considerate.
I hope you're feeling better by now. Glad you made it home safe.

I'm not sure about that. I think it might be a little weird if you weren't non-reving. Though on the other hand maybe not. I know Turkey flew on a Horizon flight and gave her some goodies to give to the FA. She just told them her friend was a FA for Horizon and she knew we worked or something along those lines.
Thank you for the compliment. I have to say I am a bit surprised by it. I also want to let you know that you are one of the most generous and considerate people I know. You are great about taking care of others and it is fantastic.

I rather thought that might be the case. Especially with airport security how it is now; one can never be too careful. I feel like if I were a flight attendant, I'd be a bit leery of a parcel handed me by some random passenger. It's too bad, though; flight crews are grossly underappreciated.
*is surprised* Well...thank you. But you're so good about being polite to strangers as well! When I was a barista, anyone like you who actually showed an interest, however passing, in my wellbeing brightened my day. I try to remember to smile and tip, but I know I tend to be very abrupt. Goes back to the Fitzwilliam vs. Darcy thing, I suppose (social ease vs. shyness), but it's simple enough to ask how people are and be genuinely interested in the answer.
