Scarf dilemma

As previously mentioned I am working on a scarf for Holly with Manos del Uruguay yarn (can't seem to get hyperlinks to work today so we are doing this the old fashioned way, www.manos.com.uy). I have two colors, a Mediterean Sea blue and a medium toned red. Taking inspiration from Brooklyntweed's Noro scarf (Read more... )

Brooklyntweed's scarf is stunning. Man. It makes me crave working with some really vibrant colours. My current project is a dark grey and royal blue striped scarf, which is nice, but I haven't done anything with really neat colours in a long time.

I wish I could offer you some suggestions, but I'm not nearly experienced enough. And for what it's worth, it'll be a good long time before I'm confident in my abilities as a creator. My current project is establishing that fact very firmly. Sympathies about the frogging.

'Luck with the next couple days of work!

Ooh, something like that should be pretty. I have confidence in you.

I really need to learn to knit better. I am a very awkward knitter.

perhaps the two colors are lining up so that the dark sections and the light sections are stacking. If you found where the repete starts and knit from the begining of one repete and then from the middle of the next skiens repete that might produce more of a contrast. Also widening the scarf may realign the shading somewhat. I found this out by total accident on the infamous sock of doom. Whatever you do it will be cool.
Confidence is self made, always tell yourself "I can do this". There will never be a shortage of people that will be willing to tell you otherwise, don't help them. I can say these things having little to none of the listed virtue.
