I rather like how the biggest difference between the two statements that I see without digging into it is "morning" vs "evening"

the biggest difference, really, was mother/no mother.

on vacation last year two kids were plastic sword-fighting near the street, and one fell down as though he were slain.

i identify with defeated little boy warriors.
