I think that I was honestly more annoyed with how unprofessional he was than I was about the fiberglass. That was just an annoying problem. But how he treated my Aunt after he threw her from the chair and was ogling me, I really don't want my grandmother being treated by him.
Sorry about the slimeball orthopedist. There's no excuse for that kind of unprofessionalism, though I have to wonder about allowing someone who's not an employee of that facility do the assist. Could be grounds for a lawsuit -- or at least a threat.
I don't mind being asked to help... I was in touch with the nurses and the doctors in the ER all night because I wanted to make sure they were taking care of her, etc.
My Aunt had been with her in the ER until the orthopedist knocked her off the chair, then my sister took her outside for a walk to calm down. I didn't want to leave her by herself, so I went back to find them. That was no small feat because no one told me where they were. I wasn't thrilled with that either. When I finally found them I was chatting with my grandmother, and he had originally asked me to hold her foot while he wrapped the gauze that went under the cast around her foot. I didn't really think anything of it until he got the fiberglass out and asked me to keep holding her foot. So I wasn't "assisting" to anything, but he could have been less of an asshole about the whole thing.
And I'm sure she'll be grateful for the prayers. Thank you. :)
Well, could you blame him? You're irresistable :-P
Yeah, yeah, I'm crude and inappropriate. Deal lol
If you want, try crisco or olive oil on your hands to coat the outsides of the glass, then soak in cold water and use something really dry to coat your hands after, like talc as Mere says. That should help them slide out, and olive oil will most likely not cause any small infections. Learn to love Greece for shit like this.

The water and talc powder softened them a little but I was able to really take care of it today. (More on that later.)
