End of an Era?

12 of 28 U.S.-based LJ employees fired.

Say it aint so! I've been on LJ for just a couple weeks short of 6 years, and now it's looking like the whole thing might be going kaput. Just last week, as I was perusing my year-end memes, I was contemplating how awesome it is to be able to look back at who I've been in my 20s, and how much I've changed.

oh man! what a bummer. I too was contemplating that it's so cool to be able to look back to 2004 and see what I was up to. I remember heterodoxus moved his blog over to blogspot. I guess maybe we'll have to rebuild our communities via google reader or some such? I don't think blogspot has the same kind of friends lists and communities that lj has which is why I like it over here so much.

BWAK!! I need this blog to figure out the dates of my travel for my upcoming clearance. Will migrating over to blogspot keep the locked entries locked?

I know... there are so many peeps here and in manila that I'll pretty much lose touch with if this thing goes kaput. :-(

It looks ok... One point of angst for me about the move is keeping in touch with my friends in Manila. Most of them are on multiply, which is popular in manila but not with peeps here...
