Not much going on around here. My cousin Stephie is here and I've been the official driver for errands and tours and whatnot. Stirring, I've done a lot of stirring. Found and revisited some good music and videos this week. At first it was "Cowboy Take Me Away" by the Dixie Chicks but my teacher said it was too easy. Then I thought of Andrew Lloyd Webber's gorgeous "Whistle Down the Wind", but then the arrangement sucked. The New World
Went to Providence to see Terrence Malick's The New World, which is easily on my list of year's best films (films of 2005 that is). It's stunningly beautiful and reminds us that there's a rather forgotten side of filmmaking which only Malick seems to appreciate.
And Brian Merrick is in it for a nice big closeup, which was a nice surprise. -

I heartily dislike grave vandalizers. This is pertinent why? I need a super easy 15 minute movie idea and I've been watching a lot of The Twilight Zone recently, and cemetaries are GOOD locations. If you could see something happen to dirty rotten grave sacking punks in a movie, how would you end it? I'm not the best ( Read more... ) -
How I Go
My sister recommended Yellowcard song called "How I Go" from their new album Lights and Sounds. A break from their usual punk, it's very pretty, sounds like it was inspired by Big Fish and Natalie Maines from the Dixie Chicks sings with it (harmony, ha, the irony). (linda_a, it sounds eerily like a Carbon Leaf song.)
