The "growing up WInchester" arc could be 7 if you included the pilot, Home, What Is and What Should Never Be, A Very Supernatural Christmas, In the Beginning, After School Special, and Jump the Shark.
I did do a whole unit on Supernatural and the Hero's Journey for summer school last year. I can send you a test if you'd like.
This is just for fun, and to keep the kids out of our hair so we can correct the state test. I am not exaggerating, the booklet to correct the English exam is half an inch high and that's just the prep work, not the actual correcting.
I'm the department chair, and my principal thinks it's great all the things I get the students to discuss with it. Foils and foreshadowing and all that good literary crap. :D The librarian and the reading teacher are prudes at my school too!
How about looking at Nature vs Nurture and compare John and Bobby's fathering skills. There must be quite a few episodes showing how they parent...or not! In these days there must be a lot of kids with step-parents and they will have views on birth-parent and step-parent. Darn, I am a teaching assistant in England but the kids I work with are only 5/6 yrs old - Supernatural tooo scary for them lol.

"The Kids are Alright" where Dean thinks he might have sired Ben. Personal responsibility? Self sacrifice?
*gee* This is hard, Miss Merepersiflage. Will it be on the test? ;-P
