Trowa smiled at Hilde and nodded his head at the door. “Can I come in?”

“Oh, yeah, of course. Come in! It’s been so long since I last saw you that I guess. I was surprised,” Hilde rambled, opening the door wider so that Trowa could come in. He was carrying a worn duffle bag, she noted, watching as he walked silently into her apartment.

“You have company?” Trowa asked, stopping suddenly. Duo looked up and grinned at him.

“Nah, just me,” Duo said, jumping of the couch and hugging Trowa. In a manly way of course. “Good to see you, man.”

“He’s been staying with me since Mr Smith’s burned down,” Hilde chimed in. “Keeping company. Seems like everyone is paired up but us. But! Duo has a new guy! And he’s totally hot. So I guess it‘s just me now.”

“I hadn’t heard that it had burned down,” Trowa said quietly, placing the duffle bag on the ground. “I’m sorry. I’m going to miss the old joint. How is Howard then? Is he still alive?”

“Yeah. He was devastated by what happened but has practically retired. He’s living in Florida now,” Duo murmured. “He was getting on, though he would kill me for saying that.”

“I think we’re missing the point!” Hilde interjected. “Trowa. Trowa! Why are you here? I don’t mean to be rude but you ditched town and we haven’t heard from you in months! We missed you.”

Trowa smiled and lowered his head. “I found my family.”

“I just don’t think revenge is worthwhile,” Relena murmured, putting her fork down. “It’s essentially useless. He’s dead, Dorothy, you can’t bring him back.”

“Dekim should have to pay, Relena,” Dorothy said. “You of all people should know after your father - ”

“Don’t. Don’t bring my father into this,” Relena said sharply. “You of all people should know that.” She picked up her fork again. “I’ve moved on. It hasn’t been easy. But I have. I don’t want to get involved the stupid, corrupt messes this city creates.”

“I still think you should run for mayor,” Dorothy declared. “You could clean up this town.”

“I wouldn’t have a chance,” Relena sighed. “Dekim would buy up votes, spend millions on my opponent, anything to make sure a Darlian isn’t elected again.”

“You would have my support,” Dorothy promised. “I’m not exactly Dekim, but I do have a significant part of the police behind me and - ”

“Exactly. Everything is made up of fractions and no one ever is elected who doesn’t bow down to those fractions. What would be the point?” Relena muttered, slamming the fork down.

“This, this is worth more than me, I think,” Dorothy started. “You getting elected would change this city more than I ever could.”

“So? I’m not running, Dorothy.”

“That’s why I plan on supporting you. I don’t want anything out of this. I just want you to run, Relena, because I believe you can change this city for the better,” Dorothy stared at Relena, “Please.”

Relena gaped.

Heero looked at the address and smirked.  Trowa had been seen in this apartment block only a couple hours ago. Spotted by a nosy old lady who had become his informant after he had knocked out her mugger a few months ago. There was a high chance that he was still there. But Heero wanted to be sure it was Trowa before he contacted Quatre.

He made his way up the stairs, forgoing the lift for some quick exercise. 212, he read and smiled.

Trowa had a lot of explaining to do.
