A rant I NEED you to listen to please

Right, I've had enough. I have come to the final conclusion that social situations and myself DO NOT go together. I have also decided that, as we all have a book inside of us, I have mine. It's a little autobiographical, but it's about a girl who starts to go insane as she becomes paranoid that she does not belong anywhere and that people try to ( Read more... )

I found it very hard to make friends at my work too. Perhaps you're just one those people--like me--who separates social and work spheres? In that case, you really need to find some way of putting yourself in a situation where people go for a social reason--a society or club of some kind, and preferably one where you get divided into teams, like a sports club, or groups, like a drama society, so you have to interact and work together. Have you managed to look and see if there are any listings in the library, or anything ( ... )

Oh--how about a creative writing club? Seeing as you've got the story inside you you want to tell... And getting started on writing it will get you more motivated, too.

talking about not seeing people...are you still in Bristol?
cos I have NO FRIENDS (well not many) around here...and my friends from elsewhere are resisting my efforts to make them move near me.
Perhaps everyone's a little bit paranoid really. Perhaps it's your workmates that are anti social.
I'm not very helpful am I? But if you want to meet up, I'm in Nailsea most days (but not many weekends)
*hugs*

Oh thank GOD!!! I am absolutely still in Bristol. We seem to have quite a bit in common here: 1. We're both in Bristol, 2. Alone, 3. Our friends won't move to Bristol... We should definitely do something!
I must agree that everyone is a little paranoid about the next person, and most definitely that my colleagues are anti social.
Where are you most weekends?
*hugs back*

it varies - mainly going to see various people who aren't in Bristol, sometimes they come to see me tho.
where are you in Bristol anyway?
I'm free thursdays and most tuesdays (evenings), and Fridays unless I'm on a train!
I made friends with my next door neighbour last night! I knocked on her door and we had pancakes :>
and I've only lived there 4 months! the first time I've met her.

Cool, what are you up to this weekend? Actually, are you on Facebook? (Everyone seems to be...) I live in the ultra-posh (but so NOT me!) Clifton, which can be a little scary sometimes -my neighbour is one of those "I come from the upper class, don't you know!".
That must have been fun with the pancakes! We made pancakes last night (not sure I should boast about doing that with my mum and sister...).
I'm going to go to the gym tonight and try and have a standoff with Rupert -he phones me last night and mentions the pole dancing course that I've signed up for (really not sure about mentioning that either...). He claims he didn't know that I was signed up for it and that he was just confirming our session tomorrow night...not sure how much I believe that since, you know, he's co-manager and will know all. Oh well, he didn't make any seedy comments thank god, otherwise I might have gone off him...
