I've been looking for a solution to this for a while. I have a couple of ideas...
one is to use whatever program I like to create labels, and build a database that includes that. The other thought was business cards. Same idea, different execution.
The label software idea is a pretty good one. I don't do labels b/c I don't have a printer at home. And I think I'd like something that I could access from home or work, whenever the "need" for an address strikes.
I get around the accessing it issue by emailing it to myself. I have a folder in a webmail account that I keep stuff like that in, so that I can access it when I need it.
I don't do labels for Christmas cards - altho I'm begining to think I should. I used to keep them in my old skool Palm back when I used it. But that was 4+ years ago. Maybe I need a new one ....
Man, I miss old skool Palms. The new ones are schnazzier but more finicky. And I have to use a Pocket PC b/c that's the only thing my job will let me have. Bleah.
But you can set your Palm up to sync multiple places, like work and home, so you can update wherever you happen to be.
I stopped using my old Palm because I could never get it to reliably sync with my laptop (running Win XP) when I got it in '02. I didn't try particularly hard tho because that is when I was starting law school and it didn't seem very important.
Maybe I should do some research on hand helds. Perhaps a newer model would be a good investment.

Maybe my next laptop should be a Mac. I've given some thought to the possibility but I fear I would be totally lost if I got a Mac and don't have any local Mac support.
I'm a palm user. And recently upgraded to a Palm Treo 650. So now I have my address book where ever I go, because I don't leave home without my phone. :) I haven't had any problems sync'ing, but I'm also running win 2000 on my work laptop. I haven't tried to sync with my PC yet (XP).
I like my palm, always have. And I also have a palm 505 if you're interested. :)
Yeah, but how often are you really snail-mailing from work? I mean, sure I guess there has been an occassion or two over the years that I brought a package in to work because I know that USPS and shipping companies makes stops here sometimes, but those instances are rare, and they're never a surprise, so I'm always able to look up info. and address envelopes/boxes before I leave for the office.
What if I get an email or a phone call from one friend requesting another's address? Or what if I need to ship flowers or a gift that day and I've forgotten to bring the address with me?

But I just keep 'em in my handheld, which I can update on my computer.

I am leaning towards purchasing the Pam Z22 to keep track of addresses and my calendar.
