2005: The Year the World Started Falling Apart

Nov 27, 2005 15:12

Everyone I know has become bi-polar. College is so hard and you hate it, the next day its the coolest thing ever, until you have a paper due the next day and its awful again. Then you come home and can't wait to get back because your high school friends are so boring compared to the pot smoking idiots on your floor, or your parents won't let you ( Read more... )

It is very naïve of you to pass judgment on people so quickly, people that you have known for years and possibly become great friends with. It says a lot for the type of person you are. Most troubling of all is the fact that you can’t confront people face to face. You must be behind the safety of an Ethernet cable, knowing damn well that people have already gone back to college, too far away for any real resolution and confrontation to happen. Some man you are. If you truly valued your friendship with these people you would have confronted them face-to-face, where there could be a true resolution, and very likely, there would not be such a tear in what was once a great group of friends ( ... )

Also:

Why is everyone assuming my post is about them? I made somewhat of an exaggeration out of it as a point - a cumulative feeling of the responses about college that I'm getting. Instead, each individual is taking it as if I think those things are about them. Do you all actually do that stuff? Now I'm surprised.

I hope that woman in the car accident is okay. Seeing car accidents is intense and scary.

Take that, society! I ignored all of your rants!

You don't have to leave me comments about how drinking is so much fun and you're being safe when you do it; I really don't care. Go ahead if it makes you feel better. I just personally don't need to forget where I am to have a good time.

Hey! Check that out! Steve didn't say he condemns people to hell who drink. What I get from that is that okay, a lot of his and our friends drink, but it's their choice, so if they want to do it, well fine. And if people are allowed to make the choice to drink, then people are also allowed to make the choice not to drink. If you want to get drunk to have fun, fair enough. Not everyone has to.
Don't chide me for "siding with Steve" just because he's my boyfriend. I see things the same way as him.
My roommate is one of those people who likes to drink at every party. She knows I don't drink and respects that. She's still my best friend at college.
