Dude, hit up April and George's on Friday(?) nights and you can get half prices on bottles of wine. Also: Ladies love West End in Chapel Hill. I have been known to drink wine and say things that I normally wouldn't, so I recommend taking any woman there.

I'm crazy about Saracco moscatto (white italian dessert, but I don't see you being a dessert wine man :P )and Deakin Estate has some really full red ones.

Hey Misha, lets go to West End sometime =P

And i can appreciate dessert wines, and actually like them with desserts...they're just not something i'd sip on otherwise.

If you like moscattos, try a Sauternes, or a german Beerenauslese

I find that I like just about everything that comes out of Sonoma County. There must be something in that soil that I agree with.

One of mine and Mark's favorites is the MacMurray Ranch Pinot Noir. It can be hard to find around here - but you can get it online at wine.com.

Sonoma Valley is awesome wine country. probably second only to Napa valley, and even better for certain varietals. Im a bid fan of Sonoma Chardonnays

Cain Concept - http://www.cainfive.com/concept.html

Was really good last year or the year before last time I had it. Not sure which year's wine that was or how much the vintage makes a difference.

Conundrum - http://www.conundrumwines.com/history.shtml

Really tasty. One of the few whites I really enjoy (other than dessert ones).

I havent heard of Cain, but ill keep an eye out.

Conundrum was started by one of the wine makers of Caymus Vineyards, which is one of the best (and most expensive) winerys in Napa Valley. Ive heard nothing but good things about it, but havent tried it yet.

You might also want to check out Benton Lane if you like pinot noir. It was supposedly better a few years ago, when I first had it, but I had a more recent one that I still enjoyed.

Oh yeah. Cain Five is very expensive stuff but Cain Concept is usually much cheaper and I like it more. Supposed to be made for a "younger" palette.
