Hard to summarize since there's such a wide range of experience taking place.  There are people here who were evacuated, lots of damage, lots of people who lost everything with no flood insurance.  Apparently there were only 600 odd flood insurance policies in ( Read more... )

I have been following the floods in Iowa with a great amount of interest. It's one thing to hear about a disaster on the news, and try to imagine the carnage and devastation caused by the disaster - I actually think it surpasses the limits of human empathy. If I hear about a person dying, say in the news or from a friend, I can feel for that ( Read more... )

It's been a crazy day. I am very happy that there are only three~ish days in this work week, now two~ish. So much has been happening that it very much seems like almost nothing has been happening.
