[ Draft 7 ] Storm's Aftermath

Sep 02, 2009 13:23

[Meth sounds like seven kinds of hell over the comm.]

Damage to deck thirteen temple was beyond repair. The structure was unstable and torn down for the safety of the passengers.

[It's obvious that she's deeply bitter about this. Tearing the temple down to its foundations, especially after fixing it up so recently, had been something that went ( Read more... )

You've really got your work cut out for you, huh?

[And speaking of work, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that Meth is a workaholic; so if something needs building? She's probably there, working on it, and not in her treehouse where her stash of booze is easier to get to from his own dinky little treetop piece of crap love shack.]

[Start up the Mission Impossible theme, because Secret Agent Stein is on the move.]

[Meth was seated on the couch in her tree house. She leaned against the arm, using her knees to hold her drawing board upright while she attempted to sketch out plans for the new temple. It was bad enough she was forced to try to do this with her left hand, but what was worse is that her hand just wouldn't stop trembling.

AMU had said this might be one of the side effects of her withdrawal from the tschat. Another symptom was her inability to focus. Littered on the ground were several crumpled papers with sketches for various other things. Deck nineteen, twenty, twenty one, a boat, a tree house shaped like a boat, and several buildings.

Secret Agent Stein might find that the door to Meth's tree house was currently unlocked.]

The passengers from the lower decks damaged the walls and foundation.

[The temple was safer, reduced to rubble on the ground, than a breath away from collapsing on top of a passenger.]

So I had to tear it down.

It was, wasn't it?

[There's a note of determination in Meth's tone, despite the weariness.]

It will be again.

I'm sorry to hear, Miss.

If possible, would it be alright for me to assist you? I know a bit of carpentry, but I understand if you don't want any help.

Don't need help, thanks anyway.

[Sorry Rue, Meth doesn't let people help her. They just get in the way.]

I'm sad to hear this. I have quite a few memories there. I do look forward to its rebuilding. I'm sure you'll do a fantastic job.

Understandable. It was a special building. It will be longer until it reopens this time.

It was a beautiful building. Deck 13 is one of my favorites.

Which deck do you like best?
