Cusco - Half day tour
We arrive in Cusco around 8am, go to the hotel and take a tour in the afternoon to The Temple of the Sun (Qoricancha), Sacsayhuaman (a walled fortress which precedes the Incas), Puca Pucara (with great views of Cusco and glaciers to the south), and Tambomachay Quenqo (Inca baths).

Trail maps
I needed some maps to go with the upcoming Inca Trail posts and after several hours of working with Google Maps, I got the route through the Andes mapped. It turns out Google was way ahead of me and had the Inca Trail and most of the way points already on their maps. Day one - Sacred Valley
From Cusco, we first visit Pisac in the Sacred Valley, on the Vilcanota River, and shop at the Indian market there.

Writer's Block: Fear
That I do less than I am able, that I have a chance to make a difference and not avail myself of the opportunity. That is a tragic life. I hope to forever be the slave of that desire. Freeing myself of that fear would be suicide. -

There are a lot of benefits to a relationship where all the conversations are in chat. Most important, is the log. When you have a fight and the other person brings up something you said in the past, you can go back, look it up and shamefacedly admit that you did say it. This year God is shaking me out of my slumber, slapping my face to be sure I'm awake and that I appreciate the wondrous gift he gave me - life.
Ines and I started planning our a trip to Peru a couple of months ago. Within a few weeks our itinerary expanded from hiking to Machu Picchu to include horseback riding at Pichingoto, ocean and land tours ( Read more... )
