today was my co-worker matthew's birthday. marianne brought in homemade cola cake and i had a piece shoved in my direction. i took it and was dismayed to find that it actually does taste like cola. i read once that cola is supposed to be cinnamon flavored... which i find odd because i love cinnamon. i do not, however, love cola. in fact, whenever i ( Read more... )

there was one taped to the mirror above the sinks and it was all i could do not to tap it while giving her a stern, eyebrows-raised sort of look.

hah, awesome. of course, if you had done that, she probably wouldn't have realized what you were going on about. i can't fathom anyone making it to adulthood without realizing the grave importance of washing one's hands all the time!

on more than one occassion i have walked into one of our stalls to find actual POO smeared on the floor and seat. it makes my skin crawl thinking about what i'm not seeing too- i ALWAYS scrub my hands in public bathrooms. how can you NOT??

uh. in your office's restroom?! disgusting! having worked in retail, i've encountered similar situations, but it's different when you know it had to have been a co-worker. ugh

yes and our building is locked down, meaning only badge-carrying employees can get into the building. i HOPE it was someone's kid who went to the restroom unattended... but it's happened a few times.

yeah, i've heard of cola cake but i always thought it was a southern small town sort of thing. guess not. i've made soda cakes before, like strawberry soda cake. that's actually pretty good... very moist. but cola? blechhh!

and i think she was totally trying to keep up appearances but what a crap job! why not just actually WASH your hands? i'd rather that she just walk right on out and not even stop for the speed rinse.

see, i am a rinse and go girl because the soap always dries my hands out like crazy and they crack and hurt. i carry around one of those antibacterial liquid thingies to use instead.

i understand that because my hands are very dry too. i deal with paper all day and it just seems to SUCK the moisture right out of my hands. i prefer to wash my hands though because i have literally walked into the bathroom and found poo smeared all over the floor and toilet seats!! and i work in a professional, suburban office that's only open to employees! i shudder to imagine what's there that i'm not seeing. i have an industrial sized vat of hand creme on my desk and it seems to do the trick.

I once thought, as I was washing my hands in a public toilet, that the cop who had come in might have issue if I wasted paper. As I was drying my hands this person with a badge came out of his stall and rinsed off: He then proceeded to ratchet out a stream of paper as long as is the distance from the dispenser to the floor. He then proceeded to wad the paper up by way of drying his hands. Six feet of paper to maybe dry his hands! I could have arrested him on the spot because he did not use the paper in any efficient way.
The point is that we, as discerning persons, have to understand the difference between ourselves and the common didactic man/person who would have need to give us cause to back off in our expression of reality to assure his small minded need for security.
