a couple of years ago i ordered a book from amazon uk because said book hadn't yet been published here and i was very impatient. ever since, i get emails from amazon uk trying to entice me to shop them again by making such unbeatable offers as "12% off 'puppies and kids together: a guide for parents' by pia silvani. oh joy! i've been waiting on ( Read more... )

I'm sitting in broad daylight in a bright room and that post gave me the chills. I'm going to get up in a sec and put on some loud music to get me over it.

I remember (I think I remember) you writing about some ghostly issues with your lamp (?) back in Seattle (?). How does this stuff not terrify you?

How does this stuff not terrify you?this is probably going to be a long answer.... fear over ghosts and the paranormal is something i've been considering lately. on one hand, i can honestly say that ghosts do not scare me. on the other hand, they completely do ( ... )

You weren't kidding when you said you'd been thinking about this stuff, were you? Big up yourself!

It's funny, isn't it: I've never experienced anything paranormal, but walking around the flat at night with the lights off, or in any dark empty building, hallway etc I can completely freak myself out by imagining ... a presence. Or unexplained sounds. A shadow. So THIS makes perfect sense, I think:

i'm going to go out on a limb and say that ghosts are scary cos that's what we learn.

I also thought this was a fascinating idea:

if a ghost is manifesting in your house, it's quite easy to deal with. most people don't realize it but all you have to do is be the stronger entity. ghosts quite often manifest due to weak or negative personal energy. it enables them. so all you do is disable them by taking the upper hand and assert your authority.

haha, sadly yes, i have been thinking about this stuff lots. i think it's because so often i feel i'm THIS CLOSE to an answer to the whole mystery. each time i feel i'm about to solve it though some whole other factor pops up to set me right back where i started. really though, i could say that about life in general as well.

walking around the flat at night with the lights off, or in any dark empty building, hallway etc I can completely freak myself out by imagining ... a presence.i've learned recently that this is caused simply by empty space. when a room is occupied and lit up, your own energy overtakes the space and most likely, you feel comfortable. once a room is vacated and lights are out, there is a lack of energy there and once you become aware of that, it's hard not to focus on it. that void is often times turned into an uncomfortable "presence" in our minds when really we're simply picking up on the lack of energy present ( ... )
