I think that you have taken a decision that was long overdue, Mia. The internet must be a complement to real life, not a substitute. When you realize that you´re focusing more on the internet than in your actual friends, it´s time to take a step back and get some distance. The internet will always be there, and your friends on the internet will always be there too... So don´t be afraid to take some time so you can sort things out. In a way I feel somewhat responsible for all this, and, ironic as it may seem, I´m glad it´s helped you out of your hole. My best wishes for you, Mia. Javier.
I don't know you well at all, but I will say that it takes longer than a couple of weeks to do what you're talking about doing here. I say that because my concern is that you will give up if things don't fix themselves in a week or two, and to be honest, what you're talking about here is something that will take months.
My suggestion is to find an offline hobby - that could even be gaming. Go to your local hobby store and ask around for local gaming groups. That way, you at least know that the people you meet will be those you already have something in common with. :) Other thoughts: take up something like yoga, biking...you could also check out your local paper and see what's out there. If you really like reading, you can join a reading club, and gather with others to talk about books.

I don't have the words that would do anything to you some justice.
Just take care wherever you go, live life some, and do what you can to make it all work.
Just remember though, the nerds still love you.
