Chicago Con 2010-A SPN Con Newbie’s Experience

LiveJournal is either being a pain or I don't know what I'm doing (could be both).  I had this fixed up nice with pics but then it wouldn't post everything so for now I'll just post this.

I’m not sure what I expected since I had never been to a con before but for me, it was my dark side of the moon.  Hmm….that makes it sound bad but I think you SPN

I will be at the Nashville con, we have to meet up! Two of my daughters live there.

I did better than I ever thought I would too! I really was afraid I'd make a complete idiot of myself.

I wondered if you were going to Nashville because I remembered you had daughters that lived there. We'll definitely plan on meeting up. Btw, I got my deep dish pizza while in Chicago and it was AWESOME!

Sounds like u had an amazing time. Now I know what to look forward to/expect for when I go in January. Hopefully u will be able to post more pics some time. The one of u and Jensen is awesome ;)

January? That's the one in SF, right? I sooo would love to go to that con.
I only went to SF once before and didn't really have much time, so I really want to go back.
Combining it with a con and seeing the J's would be even better.
But, apart from already spending so much money on conventions not as far away and with admission, photo-ops, hotel and long-distance flight SH would not be cheap for me either - the timing scares me. Last winter I heard all kind of horror-stories about people stuck on the eastcoast because of the weather, and since I would be fyling from Germany via Newark to SF I don't really know if I should risk it at the time. Even if I could get the time off and my discussion with my bank account would allow it. *sigh*

Yep, sure is and it will be my very first one too. I live in the states, so not too bad. Will be meeting up with a couple gal pals from FB that are going. I live in Wyoming, the weather won't be anything like ewhat I am used to lol. Last yr we had leaves fall, rain and snow all in one week! We have also had(couple yrs ago)so much snow that the whole town was told to not go out for anything andif you were caugt drivig, you'd be fined. Needless to say, bring it on! haha =P

I sorry I'd didn't get a chance to meet you during the con. It was my first SPN con and I enjoyed myself. I had heard alot of different stories about the con, but I'm glad I didn't listen and came.

You said you were in the front right? Gold is always the best way to go. My sister and I have spent the last six years going to the Stargate conventions in Chicago and last year to Vancouver.

I met another nice lady who has family in Nashville and will be going to the con there as well. I hope you enjoy it as much as you enjoyed this one.

I agree with you, I am a Jensen girl as well. At least you got a good look at him, I was so nervous I didn't take time to just stop and watch him before I can my photo op. He is much more gorgeous in person.

What a great thing to run into Jared & Gen the following day. How awesome was that!!!!

By the way, I also love your fics!

Yes, Gary was awesome! I sent him a thank you email. I would have been totally devastated if I couldn't have gotten those tickets replaced.

I was in E27. Very good seats, I just wish I had a better camera but I have friends who got some good pics. I was really just happy to be there. Where were you?

Sorry we didn't meet! Do I know you from SSA or from FF.net by another name? Thanks for saying you like my fics. I appreciate that very much.

Yes, very good seats. My sister and I were in General Admission which wasn't so bad, but I love the Gold seats (just can't afford the ticket prices right now).

I'm LeslieRS on FF.net, but I don't write any fiction, just a reader. I'm not on SSA, but give me a web address and I'll get on it.

Love reading the different fic and supporting the authors who actually, in my opinion should be writing for television.

Keep writing and I'll keep reading and stay in touch.

What a great Con experience! (photo-op fiasco aside).

I think if I had the opportunity to stare into Jared's eyes, I would turn into a puddle of goo on the floor. It's funny, after my first Con experience in Vancouver this year, I was surprised to find myself a Jared-girl. I always thought that I loved them both equally...but yeah, Jared is basically an Adonis to me.

Jared's eyes are actually like my best friend's, I think. He's had two girlfriends refer to them as "sunflower eyes"...deep green around the edges, then gold and brown in the middle.

I'm happy you were able to tell Jensen that not everyone hates Daneel. Also, I'm jealous that you got to meet Gen. I really like her. It's also nice to hear that they are so polite and friendly outside the Con. (And that Jared can politely decline to be photographed without you or your friends hating him for it. :P You guys are good fans!)

It was a little disconcerting to stare into Jared's eyes and to be so close to his face in order to do so! I was quite proud that nobody had to mop me up from the floor. :D

I actually thought I might come away from the con being a Jared girl but nope, Jensen sealed the deal on my status. I do, however, still love Sam and Dean equally.

I was sooo excited to meet Gen because I had really been hoping she would be at the con. She was the sweetest thing. And I certainly couldn't hate anyone for declining to have their picture made. I hate having my picture taken worse than just about anything. I can't imagine having to do it all the time. It was their time together and they were nice enough to stop and chat for a minute when they didn't even have to do that.

I am even more excited for Nashville now that I had such an awesome time in Chicago! And hopefully I will still be able to go to Vancouver next year.....must get to work on finding that second job or winning the lottery! LOL

I too like both Winchester boys, and half expected that if one boy was going to blow me away more than the other - it'd be Jensen. I was very surprised when Jared went ahead converted me to a Jared-girl as soon as I got within ten feet of him.

It really annoys me that their wives are treated so poorly by some of the fans, because I would love for Gen to come to a Con - but I doubt she ever will for fear of the "crazies". At the Vancouver Con, I settled for the next best thing - which was to tell Jared how much I liked her. :)
