Meeting people is easy.

There are 235 unique people on my friends list (damn you people and your multiple journals that you've left for dead that I never got around to deleting. Also, not that you'll even see this, but damn you people who never update anymore.) I have met 137. ( The List )

It always makes me a bit nervous meeting someone for the first time! Usually it ends up feeling like old friends you haven't seen in forever, but you never know. I think it's far less taboo these days to meet someone that way though. I remember when I met a guy from hotornot.com (god, that is still embarrassing to write) my senior year of high school, even my friends were kind of scandalized. But we actually dated for a while and we are still friends now! Crazy.

Also, you and I met before we were LJ friends - that's probably the rarity among those 137, haha. ;)

I think I used to get more nervous about meeting people from the Internet, but I've been doing it since I was 17 (AOL chat rooms!) and have a lot of experience, so now it's not really a big deal. I guess it'd be more awkward if it was someone from the opposite sex that you have a crush on, but that doesn't apply to me anymore!

I'm too lazy to go through that list and try to figure out who I met before LJ, but I don't think it's THAT rare. Most of my close friends I knew prior to LJ. It just so happened that we all had LJs!

Yeah I guess I meant more getting nervous that we'd actually get along in real life. I haven't met someone of the opposite sex since, uhh, Eric.

That makes sense. Some of my closest friends I've actually met from LJ, weirdly enough. It's funny to think that if I didn't have a livejournal, I'd never have known Ellen or Cassandra.

"objects in the Internet mirror are cooler than they appear"

you should write a book and this sentence should be in it.

I'm jealous! I want to meet Katie and Paul!

For the record, out of all the people I deliberately met from the Internet (all 8 or 9), you are by far the coolest. CONGRATS!

You came up in conversation! And of course I was like, "Millz is the most awesome of awesome people!" And then I think I called you a total party dude, hahah.

Aw, Millz, you know I feel the same way about you!

Oh yeah, and on the baseball tip, I learned that starting next year, the team in Chattanooga is going to become a Dodgers AA affiliate. They're relocating from Jacksonville. Bummed I never got to see them in JAX, but maybe now we'll need to roadtrip to see the Lookouts!

No kidding?! Man, I went to see the Lookouts last year in TN and it was sooooo fun. It's less than a 2 hour drive from Atlanta so we'll totally have to go when you're here next!

There's also a new Braves affiliate going up not even a half out outside of Atlanta, in this SICK, brand new stadium, so we'll have to go to that too. Minor Leagues upside ya head!
