Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Sydney suburbia. I caught up with my mom tonight and had dinner at Lidcombe's Catholic Workers' Club (not very upmarket :P). Not sure why it's called catholic but don't think the church would be glad about the number of poker machines in this place.

Well, families are like that. One good thing about growing up is that most of us learn to understand the past. More so when we happen to be poetic, like you.

Catholic means universal? Hmm, so they should have just called it Lidcombe's Universal Workers' Club. Let holy words be holy.

i agree.

hmmm, there's a catholic church in London that's been converted into a techno club. but they kept the name and called it 'church'. i didn't like that at all.
