It started out very innocently enough. My mom’s friend is getting married in three months and hasn’t organized her wedding invites yet. So I opened my big mouth and said, “You haven’t! Don’t leave it too late. If you want, you can come over on the weekend and I’ll help you on it.” She was so grateful and asked me if we can do it this weekend

Not laughing at you or anything. You've become the wedding organisor and you didn't ask for it. Hey at least you'll be remembered as the one who made things happen.
You must have a good voice... you're being asked to sing at a wedding. One good advice ( I've done it a few times) have a good jog before singing in front of the crowd... it clears adrenaline and calms the nerves.

i have a pleasant enough voice. :P i wish i can jog but given that i'd be wearing a dress and already MCing, i just need to calm my nerves through alcohol. :P

I'm thinking more:
* Mahal na mahal kita
* My funny valentine (not Filo but they'll love it :P)
* that Manilyn Reynes/Janno Gibbs song that Regine Velasquez did?

I am not familiar with that Manilyn-Janno piece. You're so early 90s. Mani is quite laos already. Remember she was such a singing sensation then. Now put her alongside the young champions, and she'll sound sophomoric and soporific.
Remember "Sayang na Sayang"? But we enjoyed her then.
