Brain cancer caused his decadent lifestyle? How inventive. But it's too much of a whitewash. If at all, cancer patients usually repent and atone for their sins, becoming philanthropists in the process. What Rivkin had was cancer of the soul, not the brain.

You are right. One benefit of journalism is you get to see the best and the worst of the human spirit. These extreme cases always leave a visceral and, hopefully, positive impact.

the decadent lifestyle was his choice. as to the illegal goings-on, i think his illness did play a part. he had cancer in both.

One benefit of journalism is you get to see the best and the worst of the human spirit. These extreme cases always leave a visceral and, hopefully, positive impact.

the one positive lesson i've learnt from it is that integrity should always comes first before money. :)
