Another wedding I attended. Thought I'd post the traditional Filipino garb for la_aquarius. Check out the different patterns at the front of the barong. :)

i am absolutely in love and in awe of our culture's native dress. i'm trying to convince the boy to wear a barong for our [never to happen] wedding. i've worn more than my share of maria clara's and muslim costumes along with the mountainous attire.

ganda naman!

mee too, i've always loved barongs. what's more remarkable is the history -- it's transparent so that natives couldn't bear any concealed weapons.

isn't it a wee bit cold for a barong though?

LOL we have summer and spring here too! canada's NOT just a frozen tundra. i'm wearing shorts and a tank top as i type.

the boy has a lot to learn about his/our culture. i'm hoping our trip to the motherland in december will help this.

Mich, thanks for the shout out! :D Ganda talaga ang mga pictures. I love the little boy's blue barong. And the groomsmen's barong is especially beautiful (the pattern in the front).

I just read that about them being transparent so no weapons could be concealed. Maybe a post is in order... :D

Thanks again! I'll have to send you pictures after my cousin's wedding in July.

Thank you! No, but I did help out on the 'writing' bits (the wedding invites, the program, MC, the bride's speech!)

but just for your viewing pleasure:
