I had the Environment Report playing in the background at work, when the following sentence caught my attention: "More than seventeen million gallons of grape juice is sitting in what amounts to be a huge refrigerator." What I did today.
I think I just bought my last box of staples for home consumption. I'm not dissatisfied with staples or anything, it's just that I don't use them very often, and a box contains so, so many of them. A regular box has 5,000 staples. Let's be generous and hope I live another 50 years. That's 100 staples per year, or about 2 per week. Unless I ( Read more... ) -

Surprise #1: My usual route to work was blocked this morning. They're converting the two main roads through downtown back into local streets. Right now, there are two one-way four-lane streets, and the lights are timed so I hit no more than one red light. Fornicatin' Fishies!
There was a cluster of about 12 milky, translucent eggs stuck to the glass of my aquarium when I got home from work tonight. At first, I thought they were snail eggs, because they'll lay eggs pretty freely, while the fish usually require setting the right mood. But I don't have any snails in my aquarium, so that theory didn't make much sense ( Read more... )
