Totally agree- this dangerous practice of referring to white anglo australians as "Aussie" is going to be a huge problem. I hate it. I keep reminding the girls that to be "Aussie" has nothing to do with skin colour. I've asked the girls about it - they say at school Italians/Greek/Turkish etc are called "Wogs",Chinese people are called "Asian" and anyone their colouring is referred to as an "Aussie". It seems to me that a new term is required - we used to be called POMS.

Good idea. But I find that people use 'aussie' to describe appearance

I tell them they should see the people who parallel park in Church Street Parramatta outside the Chinese food shops....
