I am fortunate enough to arrive at the platform a minute before the train comes. While I'm sitting on the subway happily listening to my iPod, I overhear one of those loud ranters who bitterly rail against a fellow passenger for the 15-20 minute duration of the subway ride.

Over the course of the last week and a half, I have been IMing with a guy from MySpace and it turns out that he is totally, utterly, completely, 100% NOT THE SAME GUY I THOUGHT I WAS TALKING TO.  And he is EWWWWWW. Fuck. I feel positively besmirched.

Between Simon and Karen & Martín, I now know far more about this Happening than I ever would have imagined. It's actually nice to feel like I'm part of some global event. I'm not super into the Olympics, though I did watch the swimming because those guys are seriously hot.

It's called "Homecoming" and will air on KQED in San Francisco on May 21st, and on WNET in New York on May 22nd.

Both stations will probably have subsequent air dates, and there are many more affiliates picking it up, but I don't have info on those yet.
