I love this. I fully love this. It's exactly the kind of thing that could make a difference to what people take from a site. It's joyful. Was it your idea? Thanks for sharing!
oh hey, I tried out using Mbedr on my wordpress blog (although its a blog that runs wordpress but is hosted elsewhere - that shouldn't make a difference I don't think)and it seemed ok. I copied the top html object option from the mbedr page, and then pasted it as I would for a youtube video (in wordpress go to Users>Your Profile and uncheck the box at the bottom that says 'use the visual rich text editor when writing' before you write the post). I'm sorry if your problem is in fact something completely different and I've just told you something you already know. My post is at http://www.kidvinyl.co.uk/?p=292 Matt
hey, I hope it does help. again, sorry if it's not what you were looking for.
I am indeed on facebook. I shall attempt to look you up now.
I was recently asking an architect friend of mine if he knew of any good software for 3D drafting, as some friends and I are planning to digitise some of the early maps of Bristol, and he mentioned SketchUp, and I've since been wasting the odd hour exploring the drawings that are already in Google Earth (loads in the Bay Area, not so many anywhere else really). Anyway, it's good to see some archaeology on there from El Presidio. It often amazes me the applications people develop. I wonder what the original intention was of the person who thought 'Google needs to offer a way for people to draw things in 3D and put them on the map'.
oh, so I was interested to see how this worked out and set up a blog hosted on WordPress (say hello to Adventures in... !)and discovered (as I'm sure you did too) that WordPress are reluctant to allow objects or iframes to be embedded in posts on sites they host, apparently because of damage caused by malicious scripts embedded in pages on MySpace and right here on LJ. So I'm sorry I didn't actually help at all.
If it's any help at all, please feel free to create pages at my project WikiArc to host images with embedded Flickr notes, they do work there.
