Healing Wings, Chapter Three

So, I already broke my "alternate between stories" rule. But I've been kind of on a roll with WPFAAT. Anyway, here's chapter three. A little refresher: Jack's paralyzed, and now living in a long-term care facility. Ennis, his roommate, is a cancer patient, and Jack just found out that Ennis has been there for almost two years.

I'm glad that Jack got Ennis out to a movie for a little bit, despite Aguirre's weird belief in following the rules no matter what. Good thing Lureen is around to help out. And LaShawn as a therapist? ::snickers:: Well, they say it takes all kinds... About Ennis and his choice of ice cream -- I'm wondering if it might be a side effect of the chemo, maybe he can't tolerate anything but vanilla, less upsetting to his stomach and so on. Or maybe he's afraid to like things because it's easier for him to be satisfied with a little than to want something he can't have? I'm looking forward to the next chapter. Thank you so much for sharing this.

Thanks! Yeah, I don't think LaShawn would make a very good therapist. I didn't think about Ennis choosing vanilla due to the chemo--I just thought it was kind of a cliched metaphor for his fear of wanting more than he can have.

I love this story. I wish you'd write more. I miss this alot. I wonder how serious is Ennis' cancer?
