Here's chapter four of my AU!AU fic, Healing Wings. Ennis, a cancer patient, and Jack, a paraplegic, are roommates at Healing Wings, a long-term care facility for kids and teens.

I missed these boys and my heart is breaking all over again for Jack. Ennis is so nice and doesn't want to hurt Alma's feelings not realizing he is hurting Jacks.I so hope something will happen for Jack and Ennis, something good and special.

Thanks! Ennis doesn't really get that he's hurting Jack, but he's about to get a nice dose of his own medicine. Don't worry, things are certain to happen for these boys. ;)

I was hoping for an update of this story. Oh, how sad though. K.E. and Grace not coming and then Jack and Ennis feeling things they don't understand for each other.

Thank you! The K.E. and Grace thing is very sad, yes, but the Jack and Ennis not understanding their feelings will be resolved relatively soon. ;)

Oh wow, I think my heart broke for Ennis when his brother and sister didn't show. I hope they had a good reason -- no, forget that -- no reason is good enough. I've seen that too damn many times and it's just -- well, let's just say there's a special place in hell reserved for people who pull that kind of stupid shit, specially on a kid. Jack's family isn't much better either though, sad to say. And Alma is about as clueless as they come, too. *sigh* I'm really glad you updated this fic, I've missed it.

I know, it was really sad for me to put that kind of hurt on him. I love my Ennis fiercely. But luckily Jack and Ennis are both finding someone who doesn't pull that on them. :)

I just found and read this all the way through. I feel for both of them, for the prison-like atmosphere, for their illnesses, for the families that ignore them. I was devastated at the thought that Ennis loved peach cobbler so much and had only tasted it once. The deprivations these boys survive- it's amazing they can still care at all.

You write with understanding and compassion. I'm looking forward to lost more of this, and happier times for Jack and Ennis.

I'll bet Ennis can help Jack's "problem." ;D
