Every time I tell my friends that I still long for "someone" to grow old with, they will always say , "but at least you already have a son." --like I don't have the right to wish for more

You're not shallow at all for wanting another dream to become reality. And to boot, these people make your son sound like a consolation prize which is NOT cool.
