You know I adore you, and you know I relate very well to the OCD issues, but I have to point out a thing to you, and I know it's going to make you squirm a little...
I have to say that when he didn’t call at all, I feared the worst.
When you send someone shopping alone, the worst isn't coming home with the wrong dish soap, or paying full price for a can of peaches. The worst is something like, the person never coming home and you never finding out why. I dunno, there might be something worse, but that's all I can come up with on short notice.
Anyway, the point is, if you're trying to calm the OCD vibes a little, scale the possibilities up a bit, it'll help put the issue at hand in a little bit of perspective.
Having said all that, I'll admit, I've been known to send Mr. Guy to the store with a *drawing* of the thing I want... ;)
It's all good. No squirming, honest. And you know that I know that you are absolutely correct. You're right, the worst was not him not calling. It could've been a hell of a lot worse than anything my imagination may have dreamt up. (at least as far as shopping goes)
I know that in order to help relieve some of my OCD issues, the best thing to do is to just r-e-l-a-x over the stupid, piddly little stuff I obsess about. I'm doing this slowly and surely. I'm not nearly as bad as I was about ten years ago. You're lucky you didn't know me then. :-)
Any drawing that you may send the Mr. to the store with, I'm sure is fully detailed and sketched out in perfect proportions, and surely much more thorough than my grocery list. And, since most men as said to be visual creatures, it may be easier to comprehend.
