My buddy Timber says the anime is pretty good and I should take a gander at it. I thought the trailer looked interesting, but I also haven't seen the original anime.
I saw that like last weekend and was like No WAY M Knight is going to do Avatar! Found ut on wiki they intend to do a trilogy to go with the 3 seasons of the show. Man....here's hoping it kicks much ass like the cartoon. :kinda excited about it:
I'm getting use to the idea...really what's the point of doing live action for a cartoon if they aren't covering anything new? Dunno, but M. Knight isn't a bad choice for the director as he like fantasy stuff and does a good job with it.
It's a animation by Nickelodeon. There are 4 races that can effect different elements. People that specifically have this ability are called 'Benders'. So the Fire Nation has Fire Benders, Air has Air Benders, etc.
The Avatar is the only person that can bend all element and it's his jib to keep the nations in a balance. The story takes up where the previous avatar goes missing and the Fire Nation declares war on the world to control it all. One of their worst atrocities is they attempt genocide on the Air Nation to prevent the foretold reincarnation of the avatar as an air bender.
Hence the Avatar is left as the last Air Bender. It's VERY good...we'll see if the movie does it justice.
