In our band concert next Wednesday (7:30 pm at Wharton Center), we are playing a piece called 'Ukranian Folk Songs'...which, actually doesn't sound very folk at all. There are 11 movements in the song (we're actually only playing 7 of them). Some of the movements have pleasant names like 'Family Gathering', 'Easter Song', 'Under the Cherry Tree',

I believe my favorite movement of "Ukranian Folk Songs" - though I've never heard it - is "Trouble With Hemp." Definitely my favorite movement.

actually that is a pretty good one. i don't play on it - so that's really why it's not my favorite - but it is my #2 b/c it involves a lot of gong lol. and anything with a lot of gong is just awesome.
