School has been going well, as has wedding planning.  Derek and I have a meeting with the events coordinator at a potential reception site on Tuesday, and we ought to have a deposit down on one of two places by the end of the week.  Very exciting!  All we need now is a cake, photographer, music, and flowers.  I'm excited...it should be a big fun

I'm glad to hear that you are excited for the marriage as well as the wedding. I wouldn't judge our entire generation too harshly. Remember that most of the people our age who have been married got married too young (24 is probably the earliest age I would call reasonable). Don't condemn the majority of us based on them! What kind of relationship reading have the two of you been doing? I'd recommend Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus. It explains a lot of things that guys do that seem completely well, alien. I understand things about my parents marriage that they don't because of it. (Although they seem to be doing fine without).

Yeah, I totally second MMWV. (And I read it on Jen's recommendation - cheers, Jen!) I don't really have anyone to test the clever suggestions out on, but boy do they make a lot of sense, and I bet they really have saved marriages. Lend it to Derek when you're done. YAY for finding a guy who's willing to work through things and communicate!!
