I have always hated being asked for cigarettes (I recently started smoking again, by the by). One of the main reasons I never wanted to start was because I knew I would be hit up by assholes on the street, asking for smokes. omglol.

i am seriously going to do that the next time i am hit up by a minor for a smoke. i have kind of an aura about me that makes people cross the street to avoid me on the sidewalk. "i do not smoke."

i do not mind sharing, so much. i am not a smoker. i do not want to be a smoker. i smoke mostly to f*** with people. on some level, to relate to people. also, because smoking now and then helps me to tolerate smoking environments.

at any rate, that was hilarious.

and unrelatedly, smoking at a gas station? are you insane?

Well, I wasn't smoking near the pumps (though I have seen multiple do so, without the place erupting in flames). I was against the side of the building, in the shade, probably a good 40' from the pumps.

The one thing I don't miss about smoking is the part-timers. People who only smoke when they are drunk, and ask you for a cigarette because "I enjoy the taste when I'm drinking." This situation usually occurs right at the end of a night out, when you are down to your last 3 or 4 cigarettes. So infuriating.

I'm glad I've quit, but I do miss it.

Yeah, that is always the hardest part about quitting for me --- drinking. Fortunately, I hate 99% of cigarettes out there, so I tend not to bum from people when I drink. If I do, it's a one-time-only thing, because I invariably hate the cigarette since it's not a duMaurier, then I bitch about it, and the person who gave me the smoke sees what an ungrateful, selfish asshole I am and never lets me bum another!

On a related note, what did you used to smoke? I am wondering if duMauriers are available in smoke shops in England. I'll be there in three weeks!
