Oh goodness. I agree with everyone else, this hurts.
I must say that of all the (many) angsty fics in this fandom that I've read, this is the most raw and painful. The others were very flowery and expansive, and I loved them, but your fic has done something different for me. It may be, to some degree, how very unique the plot is, but that can't be the only factor. Your words, they... I think it's how clearly you portray the misery of, like, every character. There are no happy butterflies and daisies. The characters feel very real, very human; flawed, lost, and hurting.

*sigh* I feel like the ending is open for one last installment, so I'm sad to see this is the end. But it made me think and sympathize, so I'll take what I can get. This is lovely, especially because I feel such pain while reading it.

To be honest, I was going to continue in this verse, but after writing several drafts, nothing really gelled, and I can say I'm honestly happy with the way that these two fics came out (which never happens with me ever.) So I guess I don't want to ruin a good thing.

I'm sorry there isn't another installment. this is open to charles marrying moira (stupid lady) and being miserable forever. only diff. between him and a lot of other poeple is he has a chance for happiness; knows what he WANTS. and he's throwing it away. even Erik wants whats best for him...in a self-deprecating way in any case.

The theoretical ending for all this in my head is that Charles waits a few years for Alex to grow up and then fixes him. And then they live happily ever after idk.

All my drafts for the third one came out really crap -_-;;
