Hm. I read this at night and first I didn't even want to write a comment, because I didn't like this story. But I dreamed about it, and thought hard, because normally you don't dream about fanfics. I decided that I would basically like this story. there could have been so much. But there isn't. For me it felt like your whole text spoke to me and said: "Things happen here. Get over it." That's not enough.
I understood the main motives, but it wasn't ...real for me. The story was not real for me and read almost like it was a summary of something bigger. So I wanted to tell you that I would wish, or, I would love you, if you would take more time writing details, inner monologues and all that stuff that reflects feelings and shows us how the people you write about actually work.

Hello! Thank you for giving this story a chance, even though you didn't end up liking it much. The reason that this was sparse was because I was trying a new style of writing. It worked in some places, and other times it didn't work. This fic and its prequel were experimental works, so I totally understand, if it didn't accomplish everything it was meant to. But thanks for taking the time to give me your opinion! I will keep it in mind for future works.

This is so heartwrenchingly good. I love how you characterised Alex. This whole fic was so vivid in my head while I was reading it and I love when he went to Erik in the end and it was just so heartbreaking. Is it bad that I wanted Charles and Erik to stay together?

The absolute RAW quality of this fic - in emotion, not quality - had me reeling. God, it's 2AM but so totally worth reading this. Charles' personality; God, I can't describe how glorious it this.

Oh, oh, oh. I can't even express my emotions at this. It hurts so much, yet was beautifully handled. Your writing is absolutely amazing. CHarles confiding in Alex, liking Hank despite himself, telling Raven to forgive Hank, and that visit to Erik. And God, their reunion. I have this absolute ache in my chest because I so want want them together despite everything. And then Raven still there. Beautiful, and right.

I also love how you included that Erik knew where - or with whom - Raven would be. I suspected that would be his thoughts, but I was happy to be shown right. Because CHarles was a better man, even at 16.

I love how well you fit the themes from the movie into this very AU form. Everyone felt very true to character. Beautiful.

A big heartfelt thank you!! This sequel was giving me such a headache, I was surprised it came out as well as it did. I'm glad you liked the canon-ish elements, to me I think that's the best kind of AU, being able to explore themes in another setting. (idk if that made any sense.)

SO HAPPY THE REUNION WORKED FOR YOU. All caps, because I had to rewrite that at least ten times.
