[With the last of her pneumonia plague cold gone, Nami's feeling a little more herself again. And still a bit stuck in surreal land, due to certain recent arrivals. But Miyabi's back, and she wouldn't want to give her crew the impression she's moping (or her mother, for that matter). And honestly, Nami's feeling a little stir crazy. And fidgety ( Read more... )

[Ahem.]

I'd like a map of Luceti. If you can spare ocean maps, I'll ask for one of those too.

[Nami scritches Koromaru behind the ears in exchange, offering the chiba inu a faint grin before she blinks at that response.]

Festering evil...? You can see that kind of thing, huh?

[If she hadn't lived in this place for two years you'd be getting a lot more skepticism.]

That's right. I haven't seen anything like that here, though. I can't tell if it's because my senses are dulled, or because the people here are fundamentally different.

Maybe a bit of both. [Nami wrinkles her nose.] Either way, it sucks. How long have you been here?

[Way too long.] About five months now. It's starting to feel like I'll be here for the rest of my life.

Well on the bright side, when you go home you won't remember a thing.

That sounds a bit troublesome, actually. I'd rather not have my memories tampered with.

...huh. Really? I figured most people'd be the other way round.

The thought of it disturbs me, frankly. How could I be okay with a part of my history being erased from memory?

Guess it depends what that history was.

Well. Who knows? Our lives are completely different, after all.

Yep, guess you're right. [And after a moment, she grins.] There's definitely stuff I'd like to remember here, though. [Just not a huge amount.] I should've said that at least you go home to the point you left at.

Hmm... With that in mind, maybe it's not so bad if I stay here a while longer. [He was drowning at the bottom of a pool before he arrived, after all.]

From another perspective, you could think of your time here as a "free" second life. There's a net zero impact on your "original" life, since you return to your original timeline exactly as you left it.

...mm. You know, that's a good point.

[...okay, she can't resist.]

You're much different now than you were on the ship.

Eh? [Hit him with a surprise attack, why don't you.]

Yes, well... The open water must've been getting to me.

[Surprise attacks are fun.]

Yeah? There were a few people kinda sick on the first day. Maybe you just got horribly seasick.

[Or messed with from the Shift. It happens. Seasick sounds more fun.]
